Sean Maguire
Acting flows through Sean Maguire’s blood starting out at the age of 5. One of his earliest works was in Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. He had regular roles in the British television drama Grange Hill as Terence ‘Tegs’ Ratcliffe and later as Aidan Brosnan in the British soap opera EastEnders. During the 1990s, he broadened himself in the realm of music and dance.
Sean never took for granted acting pursuing a spectrum of characters to broaden himself whether it be drama, comedy, fantasy or action. The actor was in the British horror series Urban Gothic and across the pond appeared in a variety of shows such as CSI: NY, Criminal Minds and Cold Case. He is most recognized for his role as Robin Hood / Robin of Locksley in the hit ABC TV series Once Upon a Time. He considered the character a great honor to portray over the course of five years for the fans of the show. He takes on challenges with gusto learning sword fight and Shakespeare for the TV movie Prince Charming and German for playing Ian Fleming, the famed James Bond author, in the TV series Timeless. With 35 years under his belt, Sean Maguire isn’t letting up on his acting. One can see more of him in the upcoming Indie-Comedy film HeadShop.
Beyond the realm of TV and film, the English actor uses his platform for community activism. His involvement ranges from marching in the #WearOrange campaign against gun violence to diverse representation in filmmaking to participating in a video for BulliesKeepOut.com in 2017 to help send a message of strength to those young people facing all kinds of discrimination. He starred alongside Tracie Thoms, and directed by Bola Ogun, in the recent short film Are We Good Parents? Discussing preconceived notions on sexuality and openness as parents. Dearest to Sean’s heart is addressing the refugee crisis around the world, especially places like Syria, having done work with Oxfam. His longtime goal in this fight is the recognition of these individuals’ full humanity.
