Anna Hopkins

Art is life for Anna Hopkins. Her artist parents provided a positive environment for her to pursue various avenues of creativity. She danced at an early age eventually looking at hip-hop feeling natural in front of crowds. In high school, the acting bug bit her while auditioning and performing in a play. This opened doors into her professional career of acting. The Canadian actor developed a relentless work ethic pursuing her acting while getting degrees in Communications and Cultural Studies at Concordia.

Anna worked on the miniseries Human Trafficking. A big break was her role in the Canadian-comedy drama Barney’s Version working alongside Paul Giamatti and Dustin Hoffman. She received Outstanding Performance – Female from the ACTRA Montreal Awards. The Syfy series Defiance made her well known in TV with the role of Jessica ‘Berlin’ Rainer in Seasons 2 and 3. She broaden in the science fiction, fantasy and comic TV with roles as Samantha Clayton in CW’s Arrow and The Flash, Monica Stuart in The Expanse, and Lilith in Shadowhunters. She enjoys taking on the pressure of bringing book characters to life such as the ones in The Expanse and Shadowhunters. Her work as Lilith (the Mother of Warlocks and first of all demons) garnered many accolades among the fans of the TV and book series include receiving the award from the 2018 Teen Choice Awards in the category of Choice TV: Villain. More of Anna can be seen in the upcoming second season of the TV series Bad Blood as the character Teresa Langana.

The Canadian actor hasn’t settled for just being in front of the camera. Her passion takes her behind the scenes as well in the realm of screenwriting, directing and producing. Many of these projects in Girl Couch and The Give & Take. The latter was 2018 official selection in the San Diego International Kid’s Film Festival and Hollyshorts Film Festival. She has challenge herself even more as a screenwriter entering competitions such the Cinequest Film Festival and Hollyshorts Film Festival, ending up as a finalist in both. Despite all that’s been done, Anna Hopkins shows no signs of stopping.
